Dear Parents,

I hope all is well!  Please see below for an announcement from our Swing Dance coordinator, Ms. Laurie McKenna.  The concert details letter you are accustomed to receiving will be emailed next month.

Thank you!

A message from Ms. McKenna:

Dear Jazz Parents,

Some of you may or may not be familiar with the Jazz Swing Dance that we have been putting on for the last 5 years.  It is an awesome fundraiser for ALL the Lakota East Bands and Color Guard, not just the jazz bands.  It will take place on Sat. Jan 21 from 7:00-10:00pm in the main campus cafeteria.  It is a fun night for people of all ages! The jazz bands are showcased and the dance is open to the public. We have professional dance instructors teaching the crowd to swing dance. We even have a dance competition at the end of the evening!

Of course, we can't put on event like this without help from a lot of different people.  We want you to come to dance and enjoy your son or daughter playing in the band, but we also need your help by working one shift when they are not playing. The approximate times your student will be playing are as follows:

1 O’clock freshman will play at approx 7:00pm
2 O’clock freshman at 7:30
7 O’clock Jazz at 8:00
8 O’clock Jazz at 8:30
Eastside JE at 9:00

We are signing people up via a website (Sign-up Genius)

If you go to the site you will see all the available slots where we need workers. If you can't work during the dance we need help during the day setting up, and at the end of evening.  We are giving first dibs to the jazz parents before we send this link to all band parents, so you will have more choices of where you would like to work.

Tickets are now on sale on the band website:

They are cheaper if you buy them before the dance.

We will be sending out a letter in January asking for some specific food donations so stay tuned for that info.
