To honor Harold “Hal” Hobe’s dedication and volunteer work for Lakota Local Schools and the Lakota Band program, the Lakota East Upbeat Club established the Hal Hobe Marching Band Scholarship. Qualified Marching Band members benefit from this scholarship, which offers financial assistance covering 50% of Lakota District Participation Fee.
Mr. Hobe served as Lakota Upbeat Club President for many years. During his tenure, the Lakota population grew rapidly and this growth required building two new high schools, Lakota East and Lakota West. Mr. Hobe provided significant assistance during this transition time, even coordinating pre-season marching band camp for both the new East and West band programs. The Lakota East Upbeat Club is proud to recognize Mr. Hobe with this namesake scholarship.
The Hal Hobe Marching Band Scholarship application deadline is March 31, 2017 at 5 p.m.
The Lakota East Upbeat Club established the Jeff Durham Memorial Scholarship to honor a former Upbeat Club president. For many Upbeat Club members, Jeff Durham exemplified the best qualities of leadership, musicianship and friendship. We are proud to recognize Jeff Durham with this namesake scholarship.
Every year, two $500 scholarships for graduating seniors are awarded in Jeff Durham’s memory.
The Jeff Durham Memorial Scholarship application deadline is April 7, 2017 at 5 p.m.
